AMEDEO SALAMONI - POTTER

Amedeo enjoys working in clay because it enables him to be expressive in ways he cannot in other mediums. He works on several different levels. He is the Head Potter at Eldreth Pottery in Oxford, PA.  As a functional potter, he likes people to use his work. For one to pick up a pot and feel it, to use it, to enjoy both the visual beauty and the functional aspect is important to him - only then is his work complete. 

On another level he uses the process of wood firing as Studio Potter at A. Salamoni Studios, Oxford, PA. The process of wood firing creates a chance element in the finished work. The nuances of the flame, the drips of ash, happy mistakes - all this excites him.
