7420 Michael J. Amis Two-Cut "Color Fields" Vase - 4" d x 8.375" h x 5.375" w

The two-cut "Color Fields" vase has a blue top with two green flanges and then green and lime color threads then an amethyst bottom. Signed "KOG ACF 13 9/04" for Kokomo Opalescent Glass and the item number.

Every piece of hand-made, blown glass in the "Ocean Currents" series is begun using a unique process that Alex has perfected. This process involves combining specially formulated glass colors in a way that allows them to change their colors chemically, when mixed. For example, white, after mixing with teal, aqua or violet turns an intense black. Next, the hot glass is dipped in a special solution which creates the unique white flecks that we call the "Ocean Currents" look. The glass is then blown and shaped. Each is completely unique and reminiscent of the way clear still ocean waters appear at sunrise and sunset.
