THE MORGAN STUDIO

Morgan Studio in California is owned and operated by artists Anita and Tom Morgan who work alone or collaborate. They both hold degrees and have been in other art fields. Gillian Hodge (d) had been their mentor and they have also studied under Rodney Mott and Richard Hotchkiss. They attended workshops by Marilyn Levine, Susannah Israel, Peter Voulkos (d) and many other artists.

The Morgan Studio produces prize-winning low, medium and high fired handbuilt sculptures and wheel-thrown pottery utilizing RAKU, sagger, low-fired oxidation, pit and wood-firing techniques along with high-fire reduction. A range of styles are used.
