As a little girl I loved digging up the red clay in my yard and creating bowls, animals, and other sculptural forms. Sculpture is a choreography of color and movement for me. I live to play with shadows, textures, and the space around the object.

In 1982, McCavitt Designs began. I am a surface designer by trade. In my work, I use any medium necessary to create the movement, color, and texture that I envision in my mind. My hand built clay pieces are made from fine red sculpture clay, buff clay, or porcelain. I use under glazes to create watercolor effects and decorative designs. For my mosaics, I use my own hand pressed and sculpted tiles plus glass pieces
